Getting a tree has become much more challenging due to a variety of circumstances that include hot summers that have led to fewer trees and covid closures. This is more difficult for our family as our tradition is to get a tree the day before Thanksgiving and many U-cut places do not open until after Thanksgiving. After driving to a couple different places we were delighted to find Sleigh Bells in Sherwood, Oregon. It's exactly what you would expect from a great tree farm. Lots of different trees that range in heights from 5 to 10 ft. Very full looking trees with excellent shape. Helpful people that shake and bale the tree for you and an outstanding Christmas market to set the mood for the season that has room after room of Christmas themes. There's even complimentary hot cocoa for the kids. We ended up with a 9 and 1/2 ft fir tree for $115. Way more than a few years ago but a reasonable price in today's competitive market.
We usually come here each year to pick out new ornaments for our tree. Though they are pricey, it was justified in the past with having a good selection. This year there was just a handful of ornaments throughout the whole building. Very disappointing and we left with none!
If you’re going for the gift shop or a picture with Santa ($10) this is a 5 star place! Free hot chocolate, other drinks and desserts for sale, and a wonderland looking gift shop.
We came for the u-cut tree Christmas tree farm. The parking lot is big but it was still full right at 10 am when they opened. The property with Christmas trees on it is big so you have lots of variety to pick from. You can also purchase a pre-cut tree (costs more). When you check in at the tree barn (for u-cut) a person gives you a hand saw and a tag and explains the process. The person who checked us in seemed really annoyed and was condescending in her explanation. I’d be more understanding if this was at the end of a long day for her but it was 10 am and we were some of the first petiole she talked to that day. The pricing is complicated so I asked about it and the tree barn cashier person couldn’t give me a straight answer because there are too many variables I guess. So you don’t know the price of your tree until you cut it and bring it back to the barn. I looked at the pricing chart and there were no 8 ft options for less than $100 so we decided to go to a different farm. The pre-cut trees in the barn that were 7-8 ft were $150+.
The Christmas vibe there is great but it’s expensive.
A very magical feeling shop with so many Christmas decorations, and an especially incredible selection of ornaments. Very expensive (most ornaments are $20+) but this is a local business so it is understandable - plus the ornaments are all great quality.
Amazing shop! Everyone is so friendly and helpful! It was our first time here, and our neighbors told us about this place. They have ornaments for EVERYTHING! I laughed so hard when I saw an ornament for a shopaholic, it was a stack of Amazon boxes. I thought that was amazing. They had free coffee and hot chocolate for customers while we browsed. They also had samples of a cranberry cider by the register. We reserved our tree and asked if we can cut it down ourselves, so they can cut the tree for you if you want. MANY trees to choose from, it's a little pricier but we didn't mind.
Great Family Experience. Pick out your tree. cut it down, find a memory item (the old farm house is two floors of Christmas ornaments and decorations from nutcrackers to train/town displays), then share a hot chocolate christmas popcorn or hand made apple donut. After all that, go get your tree, they hauled it up, shook the loose needles off, netted it up, then tied it to your roof. A truly full service way to start your Christmas.
Stopped in to shop for Christmas ornaments and decided to buy some fudge. All their fudge is delectably delicious. Their eggnog fudge is phenomenal. Will definitely be going back for some more fudge before Christmas.
Always friendly and has a great selection of Christmas collectibles. Wonderful views!
